You buy a greeting card and the card looks a tad bit boring. Here's an idea! Personalise your shop-bought-greeting card.
Materials needed:
Materials needed:
- The greeting card.
- Spare ribbon of matching colour (or any colour of your choice). It's always good to keep spare ribbon from gift boxes or door gifts for times like these. I took my ribbon off a door gift from a wedding reception. Hehe.
- Printed plaid designed pattern from the internet. Just type in "plaid design" and Google images (credits to Ms. Yap for this wonderful idea).
- Coloured A4 paper or any coloured paper that can be written on.
- Double sided tape, scissors, blade and lighter.
First, cut the needed length of ribbon enough to go across the card like so. With the left over ribbon length, tie a neat bow. Cut the ends of the bow diagonally and then burn the ends with the lighter so that the loose ends will not come out. Do the same to the ends of the two pieces of ribbon. Stick the ribbon and the bow with double sided tape. I've done mine like so, you can stick anyhow that is suitable for the card, as long as it doesn't cover the wording.
Next, to fill up the white page on the other side of the card. Cut the coloured paper, in this case - yellow paper to fill up the entire white page. Cut the plaid pattern to fit the top and bottom borders of the yellow paper. NOW do not paste them just yet!! Mark the borders with pencil, and then write your message before proceeding to paste anything. This is for in case you make mistakes with your writing, you can always rewrite it on another coloured paper. When your writing is finalised, paste everything in place.
