First you will have to renew your road tax. So go through the hassle with the bank if your car is still on loan. I lost my cool with Affin Bank Berhad for their sucky service. First they would not let me take back my car registration card because my car is still on loan. But my dad could with all the banks, why? Is it because he has a savings / current account with the banks?!?! Anyone please feel free to verify your experience about the registration card! So on the day I went to them, they told me so, I bitched the following "well, yours is the ONLY bank that I've heard have such policy". HAHA. Satisfaction because she shut up. I paid them RM 80 because runner fee is RM 10 (AND SHE DID NOT INFORM ME, I THOUGHT THE ROAD TAX RENEWAL IS REALLY RM 80!!!). You see what I mean?! She thinks I know everything already, don't have to be informed. She gave me her office number and her name or her colleague's name so that when I've renewed my insurance, I can call them to proceed with the road tax renewal.
The next day. I used office phone to call (haha since can call land line right?) the number that she gave me the day before. I swear upon my coffee sachets that it took 30 minutes just for SOMEONE to TALK TO ME. The call gets through all the time but no one picks up!!!! That's Hire Purchase Affin style to you! So after 15 minutes of trying to get someone to pick up to no avail, I dialled operator to get me Affin Bank Berhad's number. I got it and same case too, took me 3 calls to get someone to pick up my call. I asked whether I can speak to the so and so who handled my case. She passed me but the so and so did not pick up. I called both lines alternatively and I got passed on to the so and so who doesn't want to pick up / is engaged on another line. I got so mad, the next person who answered my call was from Hire Purchase. The first thing I said was good morning, followed by "*sigh loud loud* it took about...I don't know, 45 minutes just for someone to talk to me!!!! I want to renew my road tax. Am I going to go through this process every year!? Why don't you just let me take back my car registration card then!??!!" Oh the lady asked me to calm down and said that she'll let the so and so know that I've renewed insurance and can proceed to renew road tax.
After she said they'll call me when the liscence is ready, I said "You have a lot of customers is it?! Cannot pick up the phone is it?!" That was before 11.30 am. 3.30 pm I still haven't gotten the call and decided to pop there and be a bitch. AND I SAW MY NEW CAR LICENSE ON SO AND SO's TABLE. Renew road tax already never call me. Go to hell!!!!! And while I was there I fianally took notice of the phones. NO ONE picks up calls. Affin Bank Berhad, honestly if your staff are unhappy with their jobs, THINK WHY. Your staff's attitude is as if I owe them the world. If you guys cannot process so many cases, DON'T BLOODY COLLABORATE WITH SO MANY CAR DEALERS. The next time someone thinks about loaning from Affin Bank Berhad and Googles about you, this blog entry will pop up in first page. Hope your ratings go to hell.
On to the actual topic of this post. My blood pressure is currently on a raise. So most of you have problems with the strong sticking effect on car licenses right? Sticks to your car windshield and leaves sucky marks there. When you obtain a new license, don't paste it just yet! I went to Tint Shop attempting to buy a sticker to paste at the sticky part of the license. Tint Shop EXPLAINED TO ME HOW TO STICKER WORKS AND GAVE THE STICKER TO ME FOR FREE because they don't sell them. This is what I call smart ass company because when a person Googles Tint Shop, they're going to see how good Tint Shop is as opposed to stupid Affin Bank Berhad. So folks, they offer excellent service to even non-clients, if you're thinking of tinting your car windows, check the place!!! Looks very professional and their staff are really so helpful, I was so stunned when they gave the sticker to me for free.
So stick the oily part of the sticker to the sticky part of your license. The transparent sticker will not cover the whole license so it'll leave the margins of the license still having the sticky effect. Now the hard part is to remove your old license. Tear it apart and it'll still leave ugly marks on your wind shield. If your home has nail polish remover, take it and rub the liquid with a tissue on the ugly marks and they'll magically disappear. Credits to Veronica for asking "how to remove the sticky stains on scissors ah?" and to Kak Sujatha for answering "use acetone". So if you have pure acetone, it works even better, but if you don't ,nail polish remover (contains acetone) works just fine but slower effect.
The nail polish remover may leave whitish stains on your windshield. Not to worry. Run a wet tissue over the stains and they'll go away. Clean windshield! So now, stick your new license on the area specified and voila.
Repeat the same steps next year.
